Hank Dewayne Cantrell, 65, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. Born on February 6, 1952 he was a son to Howard and Helen Cantrell. Hank was 1971 graduate of Amory High School where he won many awards for baseball and football and he married Wilma Munn. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Monroe County Power for over 25 years, the City of Amory for 4 years, and drove a school bus for the Amory School District before his health failed. He was a fan of all sports and Hank enjoyed reading his Bible, his grandchildren, traveling to the mountains with his family, riding 4 wheelers, and his dog, Buddy. He was a faithful member of Unity Baptist Church where he served as a substitute Sunday school teacher.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Ronnie Sutton and Bro. Mac Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Amory.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Wilma Cantrell; one daughter, Miranda Seales (Ryan) of Smithville; one brother, Dudley Cantrell (Brenda) of Becker; and two granddaughters, Kaleigh and Kelby Seales.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Mickey Cantrell and Van Cantrell; and one sister, Patricia Cantrell.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Harmon, G.W. Walls, Mike Beasley, Rufus Palmer, Ben Cother, Roger Riley, and Roger Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Amory High School Class of 1971 and Unity Baptist Church members.
Visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
