Geraldine Elmore Tidwell, 80, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Fayette County, Alabama on January 5, 1942 and attended Fayette Schools. She married Earnest Tidwell on December 22, 1987. She worked a number of years at Walker Manufacturing in Aberdeen and had called Monroe County home for the last 50 years. Geraldine and Earnest enjoyed camping and were the first ones to serve as host at Blue Bluff Campground where she absolutely loved taking care of the people camping. She loved her family and definitely considered herself the boss. She treated each person in her family special. She was a die hard Alabama football fan and a devoted member at Prairie Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Earnest Tidwell, Wren; son, Ken Trull (Tiffany), Millport, AL; daughter’s, Gail Lindsey (Greg), Amory and Sha Tidwell, Amory; brothers, Dennis Elmore (Judy), Millport, AL and Ronnie Elmore (Tonya), Winfield; sister’s, Peggy Cash, Millport and Carolyn Crowley, Columbus; grandchildren, Lauren Garner (Jake), Lana Trull, Lindsay Trull, Alisha Dodd (Vince), and Nikki Wright; great grandchildren, Khylur Gray, Jaxon Wright, Bexley Wright and Sierra Dodd; special friends, Delores Langley and Diane West.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vertis and Baudine McCool Elmore; brother, Junior Elmore and a niece, Vickie Trull.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, March 18, 2022 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. George Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Belk, Alabama.
Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday from noon until 1 PM.
