Geraldine Capps Harper Galloway, 82, passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 9, 2025. She was born August 21, 1942 in Monroe County to the late James W. and Mittie Chandler Capps. Geraldine attended Monroe County Schools and later received her GED from Itawamba Junior College. She attended North Mississippi Barber Styling School. Geraldine owned and operated her own Barber Shop on Coontail Road for many years. She was married to Franklin Hayes Galloway. Geraldine enjoyed crappie fishing and cooking for her family and church family. She was a member of Central Grove Baptist Church.
Geraldine was blessed with one son who preceded her in death, Gerald Harper (Martha Harper); grandchildren, Charles Hayes Harper (Kortney) and Tabitha Beasley (Bill); step children, Kathy Galloway, Marshall Galloway (Shari) and Wendy Connely (Dean); 5 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and son, Gerald, Geraldine is preceded in death by her son’s father, Doug Harper; 8 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at noon on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Central Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Smithey and Bro. Zack Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Nettleton. Pallbearers will be Charles Harper, Wyatt Harper, Bill Beasley, Brailen Beasley, Brody Beasley and John Gipson.
Visitation will be prior to the service at Central Grove Baptist Church on Tuesday from 11 AM until the service hour at 12 PM.
