Smithville- Jacob Gage Szerkins, 20, died on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at his home. Born September 21, 1996 he was a son of Kimberly Camp and Jason Szerkins. Growing up in Hatley, he attended Hatley School. Known as a loving, generous, and caring individual, Gage always helped those who were in need. Having an eye for creativity, he could fix or repair anything and could literally make something out of nothing. Being known for this, he was always fixing something for the neighborhood kid and as a master mechanic, Gage could figure out a way to do it. He loved his family especially his daughter.
Funeral services for Gage will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Doug Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Kimberly Camp of Hatley; his father, Jason Szerkins; his stepfather, Eugene Peacock of Hatley; daughter, Amber Nicole Szerkins; 2 brothers, Dustin and Cameron Szerkins of Hatley; stepbrother, Ethan Peacock of Hatley; sister, Krista Szerkins of Hatley; stepsister, Alicia Carlisle of Smithville; his grandparents, Linda and Henry Doss of Tupelo; William “Shorty” Camp of Smithville; and Doris and Paul Kellum of Smithville; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Szerkins, Caleb Robertson, Ethan Peacock, Tim Olsen, Lee Kennedy, and Chase Strawbridge.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
