Frank Coleman, 76, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, he was born on October 14, 1942 to George and Rosetta Holderfield Chandler Coleman. Frank attended school in Birmingham and met and married the former Betty Tartt in 1967. Moving from Birmingham, he resided in Smithville and was a roofer by trade working on many homes in Mississippi and Alabama. Prior to retirement, he also worked in maintenance for JESCO at Cooper Tire. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was an accomplished guitarist. With his love for music, for many years he played country music in the bars before finding the Lord. Afterward, along with his son, he played gospel music in churches, as jail ministry, and in nursing homes. Frank was a Godly man and he enjoyed being with his family and had a love that was unconditional. He was a member of the Amory Church of God.
Funeral services will be on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Cleveland –Moffett Funeral Home in Amory. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Coleman of Becker; two sons, Kevin Coleman (Janie) of Smithville and Chuck Coleman of Becker; two daughters, Lisa Carter (Corey) of Smithville and Amy Wilson (Shawn) of Becker; one sister, Linda Davis of Birmingham; 12 grandchildren, Summer Coleman, Justin Coleman, Sarah Coleman, Cody Coleman, Jarod Coleman, Tyler Coleman, Brandon Kennedy, Dalton Carter, Warren Carter, Alex Cooper, Trenton Cooper, and Corbin Coleman; 5 great grandchildren, Bo Riley, Matthew Roebuck, Bailey Cole, Nevaeh Coleman, and Chelsea Carter; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Steve, Kenneth, and Billy Earl Coleman; and sister, Vera Coleman.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
