Faye English, 87, died on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Merit Health Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. Born September 4, 1928, she was the daughter of Alvis and Lois Lindsey Dill. Prior to her retirement, she was office manager for Roadway Express. She was a member of the Amory Church of Christ and with a strong alto voice, she enjoyed singing at church and with other church groups; she was also involved with the Lady Bugs at Christian Chapel Church of Christ. An exceptional cook, Mrs. Faye was known for her coveted cheesecakes and caramel cakes and she spent many summers cooking for Maywood Christian Camp in Hamilton, Alabama. The joy of her life was her grandchildren; and she enjoyed flower gardening and crocheting.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the New Hope Cemetery with Minister Derrick Maranto officiating. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Verrell of Amory and Lori Cummings of Starkville; one son, Chip English of Amory; 6 grandchildren, Chip Parham (Natalee), Gabriel Verrell, Kylie McFarling (Lance), Mandy Williams (Chris), Ashley Fremin (Jerry), and Brooke Freeman (Matt); 12 great grandchildren; niece, FeFe Eveland; 2 great nieces; and one great nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Ray Dill.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Verrell, Chip Parham, Chris Williams, Lance McFarling, Jerry Fremin, and Matt Freeman.
