Elizabeth Jones

Wren- Sara Elizabeth Jones, 78 died on Monday, September 24, 2018 at her residence. She was born March 27, 1940 in Columbus, MS to the late Claude B. and Dula Kennedy Morris. Sara attended school in Columbus and later married Willis R. Jones. They relocated to Monroe County and she was a homemaker, taking great pride in raising her 5 children. Sara was extremely devoted to her family and later in life she would become Big Momma to her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren of whom she took great pride in and loved spoiling each and every one of them. Some of her favorite past times were watching soap operas and Wheel of Fortune on TV. Sara loved to play Bingo and was extremely competitive when she played. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by daughters, Bonnie Jones, Amory and Cynthia Cruse, Wren; sons, Ronnie Jones, Amory and Donald Jones, Wren; sisters, Barbara Harrington, Amory and Samantha Hannah, Lee County; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, son, James Jones; sisters, Francis Chandler, Lavelle Thompson, Sue Shinko, Betty Ruffin and Brenda Morris; brothers, Charles and Doyle Morris. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, September 26 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Jones, Dustin Jones, Scott Harrington, James Jones, Jr., Doug Smiley and Quint Reeves. Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday, from noon until 1:45 PM.
