Amory—Edward C. Easley, 86, died on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at his home. Born December 4, 1928 he was a son of Stanley Clifton and Mary Ethel Dye Easley. He grew up in Calhoun County he married Martha Frances Dill. He farmed for a number of years and later moved to Birmingham to work with CBI Steel and worked there for over 30 years as an electrician. He was a member of the Hatley Primitive Baptist Church and his hobbies included camping at Grenada Lake, fishing and hunting. He took great pride in gardening and enjoyed giving away most of what he raised.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Elder Bobby Willis, Elder Tim Cunningham, and Elder Tony Lester officiating. Burial will be in the Hatley Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Carl Easley (Linda) of Hebren, KY; one daughter, Sherry Smith (Andy) of Amory; 4 sisters, Betty Shields, Evelyn Stanford, Mabel Tackett, and Anne Smith (Dale); 3 grandchildren, Bart Smith (Brooke), Beth Smith, and Joy Smith; 4 great grandchildren Abbey and Sadie Bishop and Emma Cate and Ian Cullen; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Martha Easley; parents; sisters, Nellie Faye Cooper and Nettie Mae Easley; brother, Jessie L. Easley; and 3 infant children.
Pallbearers will be Mike Baughman, Rob Smith, David Poss, Ronnie Lester, Ricky Lester, Alan Easley, and Jay Hilliard. Honorary pallbearers will be Bart Smith, David Easley, and Dale Smith.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and will continue until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
