Earnest Junior Tidwell, 79, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory. Born on July 30, 1944 in Hamilton, AL, he was a son to Leburn and Dorothy Black Tidwell. He grew up in the Sipsey Fork Community and also in Michigan. On December 22, 1987, he married Geraldine Elmore. Earnest spent his entire career in the automotive parts manufacturing industry working at Holley Performance in Aberdeen. An avid Ole Miss fan, he also enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Prairie Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Bigbee Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Gaila Lindsey (Greg) of Amory, Shalayne Tidwell of Amory; son, Ken Trull (Tiffany); brothers, Bobby Tidwell (Diane) of Amory, Roger Tidwell (Debbie) of Amory, and Larry Tidwell of Amory; sisters, Debbie Gosa of Belmont, Delores Turner of Wren, and Sue Beard (Alva) of Wren; grandchildren, Alisha Dodd (Vincent), Nikki Wright (Dane), Lauren Trull, Lana Trull, and Lindsey Trull; great grandchildren, Sierra Dodd, Khylur Gray, and Jaxon and Bexley Wright; bonus grandchildren, Tasha, Kristy, Amber, and Adam; bonus great grandchildren, Guy, Telsa, Grant, Owen, S.J., Peyton, and Jayda; and bonus great great grandchild, Dakota; a host of nieces and nephews; and former wife and caregiver, Linda Tidwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geraldine; one sister, Shirley Mohler; and great grandson, Kaiden Wright.
