Earl Eugene Tipton

Amory- Earl Eugene Tipton, 82 died Monday, June 20, 2016 at Oak Tree Manor. Born February 19, 1934 in Monroe County, Mississippi he was a son of James Roy and Amie Ruth Easter Tipton. Gene grew up and graduated school in Greenwood Springs, Mississippi. He married Dorothy McNeese. Gene retired from B&W Steel in West Point after 28 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and anything in the outdoors. Having a talent with steel working, he could design and build most anything and was an avid mechanic. He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Vaughan, Hatley and Patsy Taylor (Ronald), Amory; sister, Maggie Simineau (Norman), Tupelo; grandchildren, Lee Vaughan, Cassie Vaughan, Candy Wilson, Zack Jones, Becky Kyle, Josh Randall and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Dorothy Tipton of 60 years, he is preceded in death by a son, Eddie Ray Tipton and son-in-law “Lil” Pete Vaughan. Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral home with Minister Philip Hathcock officiating. Burial will follow in Durrett Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 am until 12 noon at the funeral home.
