Dorothy Jean Adams Parham Richardson, 94, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on August 11, 1930 in Amory to Ernest and Lula Mae Rye Adams. She was the widow of William Dewey Parham, who died in 1986 and she later met and married Dillard Richardson and made her home in Tupelo. For many years, she worked in retail before retiring and she was a faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo where she was involved in many activities including the Christian Women’s Club, WMU, and the Wilemon/Scott Sunday School Class. In addition, she was a member of Tupelo Civitans. Dorothy loved people and always sought opportunities to get involved in helping. Spending time with friends is something she cherished but more especially with her family. She and her sister, Ruby Nell, often watched sports and game shows on television and she was a charter member of St. Andrew’s Methodist Church. She loved hymn singing and gospel music, and she had an extraordinary gift of writing poetry. Her hobbies included camping, reading, watching television, Atlanta Braves baseball, shopping, and anything pertaining to Elvis Presley. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Amory, MS with Rev. Will Rambo and Rev. James McClurkan officiating. Burial will follow in the Haughton Memorial Park. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

She is survived by her husband, Dillard Richardson, Tupelo; one son, Buddy Parham (Ginger),Jackson; two daughters, Charlotte Faulkner, Saltillo and Stacy Forbus, Amory; her sister, Ruby Nell Parham, Amory; grandchildren, Colin Faulkner (Lee), Courtney Sartin (David), Matt Parham, Wesley Boock (Caroline), Rob Forbus (Caitlin), Ginny Parham (Matthew Sullivan), and Addie Forbus; great grandchildren, Savannah Morrison (Conner), Ava and Jax Sartin, Parham and Lyla Faulkner, Wells Boock, and Dottie Forbus; great great grandchild, Ryder Morrison; brother-in-law, Earl Dahlem; her caregiver, Ms. Pat King; and many other friends. She is also survived by stepchildren, Keith Richardson, Tupelo; Terry Richardson (Ginger), Booneville; and Craig Richardson (Dori), Ecru; step grandchildren, Kyle, Carly, and Catherine Richardson, Brooke Marlar (Brad), Blake Daniel, Sadie Grace Swinney (John), Ella Kate Richardson, Drew Richardson (Amber), Will Richardson (Tara Beth) and Maylie Richardson; and numerous great grandchildren. 

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband of 39 years and father of her children, William Dewey Parham; brother, Kenneth Adams; sister, Dimple Dahlem; and brother-in-law, Robert Parham.

Pallbearers will be Colin Faulkner, Matt Parham, Wesley Boock, Rob Forbus, David Sartin, and Matthew Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Parham, Mark Parham, and Glyn Dahlem.

Visitation will be from noon until the service hour at the church.

 Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
