Dorothy M. Anderson (Price), 89, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, peacefully at home in Amory, MS. Born in Sioux City, Iowa August 3rd, 1935, she was a daughter to Burley and Gladys Bishop. She was married to Oscar Howard Anderson on June 25th,1955 in Sioux City Iowa. Later the coupled moved to New Port Richey, Fl where she was widowed in May 1999. She later married Hugh M. Price Dec. 17, 2000 and was again widowed in Dec 2008.
She spent many years self-employed cleaning houses. She loved to sing and performed with the Sioux City Sweet Adaline women’s quartet for a numerous of years. She spent the rest of her years singing for her church. Her family was her world, and she loved nothing more than to sing for them on their birthdays. She was a member of The Sanctuary church, in New Port Richey, Fl while living there and more recent a member of the Aberdeen First Pentecostal Church in Aberdeen, MS. where she lived out her life with her daughter and granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at The Sanctuary church in New Port Richey, Florida. Private burial will be at later date next to her husband Oscar Howard Anderson at Memorial Cemetery in Sioux City, IA.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Mary Malloy (Tim), Sioux City, IA; son, Phillip Anderson (Rhonda), New Port Richey, FL.; daughter, Janelle Anderson, Amory, MS; grandchildren, Jodi Gill (Steve Caldwell), Shannon Mayo, Jessica Anderson, Phillip Anderson Jr. (Nicole), Evan Bullock (Lana), Mallon Bullock; great grandchildren, Kira McGahan (Kyle Sermersheim), Aaron Gill (Patrice), Tristen Gill (Kerrey), Brody Mayo, Dylan Galloway, Shane Bullock, Riley Bullock, Trevor Bullock, Autumn Anderson; great-great grandchildren Greylin Gill, Berklee McGahan, Blaze Gill, Ryder McGahan: a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; grandson, Micah Cooper; siblings (2) brothers and (4) sisters.
