Donna Ann Pope Neal, 58, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on July 31, 1960 in Amory to Doris Pope. Donna grew up in Smithville and attended Smithville School. She was a devoted caretaker to her husband, Sammy Neal, whom she married on March 1, 1984 and she worked in the area garment plants as a seamstress. Donna’s pride and joy was her two granddaughters and she loved to spend time with them. Her favorite pastime was going to Dirt Cheap; and she was an avid cat lover.
Funeral services for Donna will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory. Bro. R.D. Cline will officiate and burial will follow in Young Memorial Gardens.
In addition to her husband, Sammy, she is survived by one daughter, Jessica Ballard (Nick) of Smithville; two sons, Matthew Neal of Northwest Florida, and Tyler Neal of Amory; one sister, Sherry Collier of Meridian; her two grandchildren, Allie and Gabbie Ballard; cousins, Joey and Danny Holloway, Michael Smith, Michelle Turner (John), Debby Capps, Carla Spencer, and Dewayne Hallmark; aunt, Willie Smith; and special friends, Patsy Lucius, Mary Anderson, Frankie Sloan, John Robinson, Charlotte and Gary Clouse, Judy McFarling, and Judy Earnest.
She was preceded in death by her mother; one sister, Christie Collier, aunts, Wilma Hallmark and Dorothy Addinton, Uncle Jerry Hallmark, and grandmother, Elsie Pope.
Pallbearers will be Matt Neal, Michael Smith, Joey Holloway, Nick Ballard, John Robinson, and Jonathan Clouse.
Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
