Dolores Hathcock Cox, 81, died on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the DIversicare Nursing Center in Amory. Born in Smithville on April 20, 1936 she was a daughter to Coleman Thomas and Omie Alice Nash Hathcock. She was married to Wayne Cox and together they owned several bowling centers. Prior to her retirement, she traveled with her husband on business trips. A member of the Amory Church of Christ, she loved her church family and especially enjoyed attending church singing events. Mrs. Dolores was a homemaker and she enjoyed spending time with her family and she was known for sending cards to those who were sick or shut-in.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Amory Church of Christ with Minister Philip Hathcock officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Cox Fausz (John) of Amory; two granddaughters, Brittany Fausz Helton (Grady) of Diamondhead, MS and Breanna Fausz of Belden; one great grandchild, Gunner Beau Helton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Hoyt Hathcock; and two sisters, Joyce Bunch and Bernice Nell McCormick.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Amory Church of Christ.
