Delores Thompson Waddle, 67, of Fulton, formerly a resident of Smithville until just recently, went to heaven on the afternoon of January 5, 2016.
Our momma was always “on the go” doing for others. Some people were born to be “caregivers” and she cared for many, friends and family. We joked with her that she was the Smithville “meals on wheels”! She didn’t stop for long wherever she went and was always in and out and on to the next place to help someone! She lived her life for others but most of all for the Lord. She always said the only thing she wanted in life was for her family to know Jesus!
She was a daughter, a wife, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was proud of her family and loved to talk about all of the grands and great grands!!
As my sweet daddy has said many times, you’ve already preached your funeral by the life you’ve lived and momma’s was lived for the Lord. She was a member of South Side Baptist Church, but most of all she was a follower of Jesus. Are you? Do you know Him? She would want us to ask you that!
Visitation will be Thursday, January 7, 2015 from 5 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
A celebration of Momma’s life will be Friday, January 8, 2015, at 2:00 PM at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Doug Wilson and Bro. Bobby Amos officiating. Burial will be in Young Memorial Gardens in Smithville.
Pallbearers are Michael Waddle, Matthew, Waddle, Todd Hughes, Bryan Ramey, Chad Bennett and Tyler Minor.
She is survived by her loving husband, Billy D. Waddle of Fulton; 3 daughters, Missy Minor (Randy) of Amory, Melody Lacy (Johnny Mack) of Hamilton, AL, and Crystal Bowden (Jeremy) of Smithville; one sister, Janice Kennedy (Gerald) of Amory; 7 grandchildren, Aaron Minor, Tyler Minor (Stephanie), Hannah Beth Begner (Abe), Aden Jones, Madalyn Minor, Jesse Minor, Morgan Bowden and Lauren Lacy King (Josh); 3 Great-Grandchildren, Aaron Lee Minor, Audrey King and Amelia King; Niece, Brooke Warren (Steven), nephew, Jason Kennedy (Hannah) and great niece Lily Kate Warren; and a host of nieces and nephews on the Waddle side.
She was preceded in death by her daddy, Aden Thompson, her mother, Ruby Miller Thompson and a sister, Ruby Nell Thompson.
Pay it forward with a smile, tell those you love that you love ‘em, cause life is short y’all and thank God for ALL your blessings big and small!
