David Gordon

Columbus

David Robert Gordon, 74, passed away on January 15, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  Born on November 4, 1949, he was a son to Dexter Leo, Gordon Sr. and Edna Faye Moore Ridings.  Growing up in Aberdeen, he was a 1968 graduate of Aberdeen High School and furthered his education at Itawamba Community College.  He lived most of his adult life in Columbus and worked at Kerr-McGhee for 10 years and he also was a car salesman in Columbus.  He retired from Quality Production Products in Caledonia.  His brilliance was unmatched when it came to computers.  He was a Hamasa Temple Shriner and in his younger years, he was a member of First Methodist Church in Aberdeen.

 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.

 

He is survived by one sister, Delores Northington (Wayne) of Gattman; two brothers, Dexter Gordon, Jr. of Vineland, NJ and Danny Gordon (Pat) of Tuscaloosa; nephews, Dewayne Northington (Claire) of Tremont and Levi Northington (Callie) of Amory; and great nieces, Darby and Landry Northington.  

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Julie Gordon; and step-father, Joe Ridings. 

 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

 

Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time on Sunday.
