Dale Humphreys

James Dale Humphreys, 68, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his home.  He was born in Kentucky on January 14, 1955 to Charles and Eloise Humbers Humphreys.  He married the former Sherian Webb and for many years, he worked at the garment plants and later worked at True Temper Sports from where he retired.  Following his retirement, he and his brother started an independent lawn service which he loved doing until his health failed.  Dale was a simple man and he loved people especially his family and friends.   He was hardworking and a faithful husband and father.  Dale was very easy going and never has a harsh word to say about anyone.  A member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ, he was also a 1973 graduate of Smithville High School.  Dale faithfully and dutifully served in the Air Force and National Guard.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bobby Cleveland officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m.

In addition to his wife of 38 years, Sherian Humphreys, he is survived by one daughter, Crystal Easter; one brother, Leon Humphreys; grandchildren, Austin Easter and Harley Ray; special cousin, Bobbie Riche; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins; and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; baby sister, Thelma Humphreys; and son, Johnny Dale Tubb.
