Cynthia Lane Wardlaw Smith, 74, passed away ay NMMC- Tupelo on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. She was born in Amory on November 7, 1950 to the late Howard and Ovie Cook Wardlaw. She attended Amory School and married Frank Smith, Jr. Cynthia worked several years in the area garment and furniture industry as a seamstress before becoming a homemaker. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed when they all would have family gatherings. Cynthia loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening. Cynthia was a member of North Boulevard Christian Church and enjoyed worshipping with her church family.
Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Tracy Smith (Robert), Wren; sons, Frank Smith III (Sara), Tupelo and Brian Smith, Amory; sister in law, Susie Seay, Bigbee; brother in law, Royce Finley, Nettleton; grandchildren, Jacob Dykes (Christine), Joshua Dykes, Konner Smith and Andrew Smith; great grandchildren, Jameson Dykes, Emma Drew Dykes, Tripp Dykes, Haygen Wren Dykes, Greyson Dykes, Gunner Dykes and Liam Dykes; special friend, Martha Jo Borcicky; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cynthia is preceded in death by a grandson, Jarrett Dykes; siblings, Geneva Fowlkes, Marcelle Riddle, Pete Wardlaw, Bobby Wardlaw, Eddie Wardlaw, Betty Burdine and Faye Finley.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Mr. Philip Hathcock and Mr. Chad Logan officiating. Burial will follow in Amory Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be prior to the service on Monday from 11 AM until 1 PM.
