Clinton Junior “Buck” McNeese, 78, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory. Born on April 17, 1941 he was a son to James T. and Maggie Heard McNeese. Buck attended Greenwood Springs School, graduated Hatley High School, and later married the former Julia Goodwin on December 20, 1963. He proudly served his country in the National Guard and was activated to Ole Miss and prior to his retirement, he worked for Sanderson Construction, Wilemon Construction, and Moffett Construction as a home builder. As a bi-vocational preacher, he served Antioch Baptist Church, Victory Baptist Church, and Rocky Springs Baptist Church. In addition to coon and deer hunting, Buck was an avid horseman. He enjoyed working on vehicles and gardening, but he enjoyed most spending time with his family. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Rodney Waycaster and Bro. Lloyd Minor officiating. Burial will follow in the Durrett Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Julia Goodwin McNeese of Quincy; 3 sons, Dewayne McNeese (Karen), Tim McNeese, and Kevin McNeese all of Quincy; one daughter, Kim McNeese Renfro of Wren; one brother, Jackie McNeese (Liz) of Quincy; 3 sisters, Odean Woods of Texas, Betty Easter (Junior) of Aberdeen, and Linda Devaughan of Aberdeen; 9 grandchildren, Drake McNeese (Courtney), Matt McNeese, Laykan Renfro, Shayla Carter (Brandon), Lindsey Renfro Leavell (Jared), Renee Black (Dakota), Hunter McNeese, Hannah McNeese, and Logan Renfro; two great grandchildren, Lynle Mac Carter and Sawyer Leavell; and special friends, Butch Barrett, Joe Reeves, and Ralph Reeves.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, James B. McNeese and Robert McNeese; sister, Dorothy Tipton; his parents; his mother, Opal Helms; and special friends, Bro. Mac Phillips and Bro. Milton Jerrell.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Carter, Herman Mitchell, Wade Minor, Kendall Waycaster, Ricky Chaney, and Timmy Pickle.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m.
