Cecelia Louise Nichols

Cecelia Louise Nichols was born on December 2,1948 to the late John Robert Murray and Myrtis Louise Crump in Helena, AL.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. Cecelia was joined in union to Johnny L. Standifer to which a daughter was born in Amory, MS. She later married the late Spencer E. Nichols to which a son was born in Amory, MS.  In her earlier years she worked as a seamstress at Red Kap.  After the decline in the garment industry, she owned and operated Nick and Sons Restaurant, alongside her husband, Spencer Nichols in which she found great joy.  After Nick and Sons closed, she began cooking at Golden Living where she took great pride in feeding all of the residents.  

Cecelia peacefully departed her earthly life on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at North MS Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, Cecelia was preceded in death by her brother, Michael J. Murray of Nashville, TN.

Left behind to cherish her memories, one daughter, Vettra “Vee” Dobbs of Amory, MS; one son, Craig Nichols (Moneika) of Amory, MS; one brother, Larry Pruitt (Cynthia) of Gary, Indiana; and one sister, Robyn Murray Terry of Montgomery, AL. Grandchildren: Mariah Dobbs, Jordan Nichols, Quantavious Nichols, Aliyah Dobbs, Malcom Dobbs, Tyler Dobbs, and Elias Nichols; 6 great grandchildren, Kylin, Kynade, Rainah, Aiden, Khristian, and Tailey; and special niece/nephew Natalie Mayfield and William Ivey. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Dr. Lesley Mabry officiating.  Burial will follow in the United Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Malcolm Dobbs, Tyler Dobbs, Quantavious Nichols, Elias Nichols, William Ivey, Jordan Nichols. 

The wake for Ms. Nichols will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday evening, October 14, 2022 at the funeral home.
