Catherine Taylor

Catherine Diane Tomlinson Taylor, 71, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on June 21, 1953 in Bethesda, MD to Joseph Howard, Sr. and Francis Blackburn Tomlinson and was the widow of Chuck Taylor whom she married in 1980. She grew up in Murfreesboro, TN and graduated from Rutherford County High School. After moving to Columbus, MS, she earned an accounting degree from Mississippi University for Women and worked as an accountant for T.E. Lott and Cash Distributing before moving back to Murfreesboro and worked for Interstate AC in Nashville, retiring in April 2019. After her retirement, she came back to Amory to be near her daughter, son-in-law, and her grandchildren. Catherine’s hobbies included reading, and taking care of her dog, Lilly, whom she adored. She loved all things pertaining to Elvis and grew up going to his concerts.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Jonathan Blackburn officiating. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 3:45.

She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Chism (Josh), Amory; her sister, Patricia Ann McKnight (Steve); and her grandchildren, Collin Corbell and Caity Jo Chism.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Joseph Howard “Butch” Tomlinson, jr.
