Bo Roberts

July 20, 1965 — January 5, 2024

Amory

William Riley "Bo" Roberts, 58, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 in Choctaw County, Alabama while tracking a deer he had shot earlier in the afternoon.  Everyone who knew Bo, knew that he died while doing what he loved.  He was born July 20, 1965 in Aberdeen to William Thompson Roberts and Nancy King Roberts.  He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1983.  Shortly after, he took a job with Bryan Foods and also worked at the City of Aberdeen.  Bo had a successful career with Mississippi Department of Transportation.  After 30 years with MDOT he retired as the Maintenance Superintendent over Monroe, Clay, Chickasaw and Lowndes County.  After retirement he worked at Care Center of Aberdeen and currently Riverplace Nursing Facility as the Maintenance Supervisor.  Bo had a love, care and concern for people that was as genuine and authentic as he himself was.  Everyone that knew him knew that he would literally give you the shirt off of his back.  He never met a stranger and made tons of friends throughout his life.

It goes without being said that he was passionate about hunting.  There wasnt a story told or conversation to be had with Bo that the topic of hunting or fishing didnt come up.  He was fortunate to have made memories hunting and fishing with his dad.  He was also a proud father and was happy to pass all that he had learned from his father on to his son, Wes.  On February 29, 2012, Bo married his best friend and love of his life, Kim McDonald.  For nearly 12 years he and Kim shared each day together.  Not only was she wife but also his hunting and fishing partner where they made many memories that are now priceless.  He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his many friends.  Most of all, Bo knew that his greatest gift in life was salvation through Jesus and he was proud to call Forward Church his church home.

Bo is survived by his wife Kim McDonald Roberts, Amory; mother, Nancy King Sebren, Amory; son, Wesley Roberts (Kelsey) of Cairo, MS; daughter, Crystal McBride (Shannon) of Henderson, NV; brother, Jay Roberts, Lackey; grandchildren, Edyn Roberts, Swayzie Roberts, Isabella Hansen, Xyanne Hansen, Liam McBride and Gunnar McBride; niece, Brooke Brewer; nephews, Jordan Roberts (Shannon) and James Roberts, Jr. (Morgan); step daughters, Madelyn McDonald, Nettleton and Maggie Hazzard, Montpelier; sister in law, Beth Schmoock (Hans), Amory; brother in law, John McDonald (Christy), Nettleton; special friends, Guyvester Dobbs, Jason Humber and Jerry Howell.

Bo is preceded in death by his father, William Thompson Roberts and a granddaughter, Evie Roberts.
