Billy Joe Bowen, 64, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2018 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Billy Joe was born on June 11, 1954 in Brinkley, AR to Joe and Ann Wilson Bowen. He moved to California, later graduating high school in Amory. His career spanned many years whether it was over the road trucking or most recently as a mechanic working with the late Jackie Wilson or Minga & Sons until his health prevented him. Billy Joe honorably and proudly served in the Mississippi National Guard and his favorite pastime was fishing or making long distance trips on his Harley-Davidson. Full of life, he was the jokester of the crowd and the life of the party; and he was known for having the last word. As much as he enjoyed being with his friends, his pride was his girls and grandchildren.
Funeral services for Billy Joe will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Phillip Lindsey and Bro. Danny Burks officiating.
