Betty Armstrong

Betty Jean Braswell Armstrong, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Oak Tree Manor in Amory. She was born on March 24, 1937 in Belzoni, MS to William Claude and Alma Beatrice Jefferies Braswell. She attended school in Belzoni and graduated from Delta State University. For many years, she worked for McCoy Manufacturing and later retired from the Monroe County Health Department. She married Harold Presley Armstrong in 1956 and she was a faithful member of Becker Baptist Church and loved to listen to sermons even after she was able to attend. She enjoyed reading and shopping always looking for a bargain.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Green and Bro. Greg Worthey officiating. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemtery.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Taylor (Joey) of Amory; two sons, Justin Brooks Kennedy (Heidi) of Tupelo and David Lee Kennedy of Amory; two brothers, Bill Braswell and Denon Braswell; two grandchildren, Tara Farnham and Pam Bennett (Steven); 5 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Armstrong; and one sister, Mavis Ray.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
