Beth Smith

Elizabeth Janette Thompson Smith, 57, passed away Friday, January 21, 20221 at the NMMC in Tupelo. She was born March 2, 1964 in Monroe County to Grady Ray Thompson and Willie Mae Smith Thompson. Beth attended Greenwood Springs and Hatley Schools. Before becoming a homemaker she worked in the area garment industry and at Mildred's Restaurant. She married Ronnie Smith. She loved to cook and her family's favorite was her homemade peanut brittle and boiled peanuts. She enjoyed fishing, camping and playing softball in her younger years. More than anything she loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her mother, Willie Mae Thompson, Becker; husband, Ronnie Smith, Greenwood Springs; daughter, Leigh Ann Reither, Amory; sons, Bo Reither (Kelly), Amory, Bob Pullen (Eden), Wren and Nick Smith (Elizabeth), Pontotoc; sisters, Becky Cantrell (Troy), Hamilton and Kathy Sutton (Chuck), Becker; mother in law, Etoy Chism, Amory; 9 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Mike Thompson; stepson, Jared Smith and a nephew, David Cantrell.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be at Greenbrier Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 11 AM until 12:45 PM.
