Bessie Grace Wiley Morgan, 82, died peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at her home in the Athens Community. Born December 17, 1933 in Los Angeles, CA, she was a daughter of Walter and Ethel Hunter Wiley. Graduating from El Segundo High School, she later earned her R.N. degree from ICC. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a nurse at North Mississippi Medical Center and did contract nursing in North Carolina and California. She enjoyed travel, family, friends, swimming, plants, shopping and she was involved with Meals on Wheels. Enjoying church activities, she was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and later attended Athens Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Butch Moore and Bro. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Howell Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Wesley Wiley Morgan (Julia) of Athens; 3 daughters, Marcia M. Morgan of Athens, Joyce Haney (David) of Wren, and Wendy Callick (Tracy) of Athens; 5 grandchildren, Charlie Mize (Jessie), Misty Cox (Jerome), Jennifer Pannell (Will), Adam Morgan, and Jacob Morgan (Kim); 8 great grandchildren, Tristin Brewer, Aubrey Cox, Olivia Cox, Dylan Mackenzie, Carter Lundquist, Parker Lundquist, Kelsey Morgan, Rebkah Morgan, and Makenzie Morgan; nieces, Lindsey Lowe and Joann McMannie; and friends, Judy Holman, Billy Hood, and the Gentiva Hospice Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Wanda Boyer; grandson, Jason Morgan; and husband, Wesley Morgan.
Pallbearers will be Doug Buchanan, Jerome Cox, Will Pannell, Charlie Mize, Adam Morgan, and Jacob Morgan.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
