Smithville

Barbara Nell Ausborn Robison, 83, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at her son’s home in Smithville. She was born on August 23, 1939 in Monroe County to Ollie and Mattie Rose Hadaway Ausborn.  A life-long resident of the Turon Community, she worked many years for Monroe Trouser and then for Amory Garment Co.  She married Arthur Charles Robison on April 20, 1956.  Mrs. Robison was the consummate homemaker and liked nothing better than to cook Sunday lunch for her family.  A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she took great pride in spoiling her children and grandchildren.  A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, she was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she was a charter member since July 21, 1974 and she always sought to find the good in all people.  She liked watching sports especially basketball.  

 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Victory Baptist Church in Smithville with Bro. Johnny Hughes officiating.  Burial will follow in the Robison Family Cemetery adjacent to Turon Community Cemetery.  Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

 

She is survived by her son, Charles Ricky Robison (Janice) of Smithville; three sisters, Laine Bost (Jackie) of Tupelo, Anita Cowley of Smithville, and Kathy Williams (Gene) of Tupelo; grandchildren, Tracy Knight (Jason) of Smithville, Leslie Hipps (Chad) of Smithville, and Ethan Mullins of Smithville; son-in-law, Chris Mullins of Smithville; great grandchildren, Neil Knight (Tori) of Starkville, Blane Knight (Bridget) of Eupora, and Dayton Hipps of Smithville; great great grandchildren, Bailee, Brooks, Langston, and Maverick; special friends, Lane Suggs Booker and Sidney Chamblee.

 

In addition to her husband of 52 years, Charles Robison, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Mullins, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Douglas Cowley.  

 

Pallbearers will be Neil Knight, Blane Knight, Dayton Hipps, Chris Cowley, Mike Holloway, and Connie Cowley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Mullins and Mark Cowley.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the church.

 

Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
