Barbara Dykes

Barbara Dykes, 78, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Riverplace Nursing Center in Amory.  She was born on August 8, 1944 in Red Bay, AL to Mancel and Mary Spencer Lindley.  She spent many of her early years in Steele, MO and lived most of her adult life in Monroe County.  She married Darold Dykes and Jabo Pace, both of whom preceded her in death.  She was a homemaker and she liked going to yard sales and fishing, but most of all, she enjoyed being with her family.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Chris Mitchell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery. 

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Dykes (Pam Sutton) of Nettleton and Darold Dykes; one brother, Freddie Lindley (Edna) of Smithville; 4 sisters, Linda Mattson of Manchester, TN, Nita McCool (Michael) of Greenwood Springs; Carolyn Johnson (Jerry) of Crete, IL, and Mary Johns of Kennett, MO; 6 grandchildren, Chris Brown, Bradley Brown, Jacob Dykes, Jeremy Brown, Josh Dykes, and Jared Dykes; 4 great grandchildren, Jamison Dykes, Emma Dykes, Tripp Dykes, and Hagan Dykes; a host of nieces and nephews; and her Riverplace Community.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one daughter, Tina Hacker; 3 brothers, Charles, Carlton, and Robert Lindley; and two sisters, Opal Mann and Martha Eaton.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
