Amber Gill

Amber Marie Gill, 42, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at her home. She was born on April 29, 1979 in Amory to Pierce Richard Gill and Betty Jones Gill. Amber was a 1996 graduate of Hamilton High School where she was in the Beta Club and the band. She attended ICC then later graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College earning an A.A.S. in Respiratory Care Technology. She was a respiratory therapist working on the gulf coast, Austin, TX, and also at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus and she looked forward to getting back to work in respiratory care. She was an animal lover who cared deeply for her dog, Sister and cat, Spirit. Amber loved all things outdoors especially water skiing, camping, hiking and biking. Amber participated in several volunteer vacations doing trail work at Red Mountain, AL, Cloudland State Park, GA, and Merritt Island, FL. She was a member of Vibrant Church in Columbus where she had served on the Emergency Response Team, Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen, and mentored with Kids Hope. She loved her church and church family.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Vibrant Church in Columbus with Pastor Ethan Boggs officiating. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by her mother, Betty Gill of Columbus; her father, Richard Gill of Hamilton; her sister, Karen Hinshaw (Eligah) of Horn Lake, MS; niece, Cambria Hinshaw; nephew, Free Hinshaw; grandfather, A.G. Doss; cousins, Jenny Clark, A.J. Budgins, Robert Leach, Walter Leach, Melissa Gill Smith, Jason Tirado, Susanna Cohen, Daniel Cohen, Tiffany Holder, Bobby Jones, Debbie Williams, and April Atkins; and numerous aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leonard and Daisy Jones and Bertha May Doss; and uncles, Charles Robert “Bobby” Jones and John Budgins.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time for service.
