Ailese D. Shepherd, 87, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at her home in Quincy. She was born on June 27, 1934, in Hale Co., AL to Allen Dewey and Elvery Wilson Duncan. She graduated Hale County High School. Moving from Birmingham to Amory in 1972, she worked as an inspector for McCoy Pants Factory until her retirement. She was a Godly woman who loved to read her bible and she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved gardening, working with flowers, cooking, and was a huge fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football. She was the widow of William Hayes Shepherd.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Shepherd of Amory; one brother, Carl David Duncan of Hale Co., AL; three granddaughters, Myles Shepherd (Kassie), Kayla Shepherd (Kyle), and Alissa Shepherd; 3 great grandchildren, Mia Grace Sullivan, Braxton Tate Sullivan, and Walker Hayes Sullivan; a special friend, Allene Reeves; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband; one son, Jimmy Shepherd; two sisters, Ola Mae Duncan Johnson, and Thelma Duncan Emery; and brothers, Alton Duncan, and Marvin Dewey Duncan.
